NEW PRIVATE TOURS
Safi Safaris Private Tours offer a variety of trips from luxury to budget, custom designed by us to meet your personal needs and exceed your safari expectations. On these trips, you'll experience Africa as it was meant to be experienced. Within each price range you will stay in the best accommodations available, lodges and tented camps, both permanent and mobile, luxury and down to earth. You'll spend your days with the wildlife in spectacular locations and your nights in comfort. Of course, we'll use our well-maintained Land Cruisers and our excellent driver/guides so you'll travel in comfort.
We organize driving or walking safaris, or a combination of both. You can meet with local people and learn a little of their rich and fascinating cultures, or with anthropologists and wildlife specialists. If you want to get close up to Africa's famous wildlife - from lions and elephants to flocks of lesser flamingos, from cheetahs to chimps - we have created a number of safaris. Experience Tanzania's animals and birds and then relax on the beach or climb Africa's highest mountain, majestic Kilimanjaro with its moonscape scenery and spectacular views followed by some game viewing. We can also arrange for a first class wildlife specialist to guide you throughout your safari.
This year all our sample safaris are for 12 days. We have done this to give you the opportunity to compare one with another, not because we expect everyone to choose a 12 day safari. From a weekend quickie to a month or more, we are happy to arrange your safari. And a final point, the cost of most of these safaris is on the high side. We can usually follow very similar itineraries with mid and lower priced accommodations, although there are some things we are not prepared to compromise, the quality of our driver/guides, our vehicles and your comfort and safety on Mt. Kilimanjaro for example.
Of course, these itineraries are presented just to spark your imagination, and we can design any sort of trip you want.
Please review the following sample itineraries and then fill out our application form, indicating where you want to go and what you want to do (please don't forget to fill in your email address, otherwise we can not get back to you). Or if you prefer, write us an email with as much detail as possible. We will get back to you within five working days with a preliminary agenda and specific price quote.
The Classic Wildlife Safari: This safari takes you to the famous wildlife venues in Northern Tanzania, with all the comfort, luxury and adventure of traditional East African safaris. You will have the opportunity to see the greatest wildlife spectacles in the world, with a backdrop of stunning scenery.
New Wildlife Safari A very similar itinerary to the Classic Safari, but accommodations are within the mid-price range. We have chosen tented lodges and lodges which we can thoroughly recommend and our mid-range mobile camping is really excellent.
Lodge Based Wildlife Safari and Zanzibar For people who want to maximise their game viewing, then spend some time relaxing on the white sand beaches of the Indian Ocean, snorkel, dive or game fish, this is the ideal safari. After your wildlife experience, choose between the well-known island of Zanzibar, its sister island of Pemba, explore little known Mafia or one of the mainland beaches.
The Classic Wildlife Safari, the Great Lakes and Chimpanzees
A seven day Northern Tanzania safari, followed by two days at Rubondo Island on Lake Victoria and two at Mahale Mountains on the shores of Lake Tanganyika. To watch and hear chimpanzees in the wild, is truly unforgettable. With no roads or vehicles, you fly in and walk or go by boat to find the wildlife by the sparkling waters of these lakes.
The Classic Wildlife Safari and the Southern Circuit Start your safari in Northern Tanzania, then fly to Selous Game Reserve and Ruaha National Park, in Southern Tanzania. This trip gives you the opportunity to savor a fully representative African safari: broad savannas, deep bush, rift valley soda lakes, mighty rivers, montane forests and near sea-level palm forests, with all the widlife that lives there.
Mount Kilimanjaro Climb and Short Wildlife Safari Climb the highest mountain in Africa, walk up through the forests, into the alpine and desert zones to the snows of Kilimanjaro. This one week hike, via the Machame route is followed by a short safari in Northern Tanzania.
The Low Season Safari We love Tanzania in the rains. Landscapes are incredibly beautiful and lush. Rainbows fill the sky while, are magnificent in the clear air. Wildlife in the Serengeti is wonderful. The climate is perfect except that it does rain, morning and afternoon rainstorms are followed by brilliant, clear skies and the wonderful fresh smell of drying vegetation. And very important for you, the price is right.
Wildlife, Walking and Culture This is a really exciting itinerary, jam-packed with wildlife, people and hiking. Perfect for active people of all ages, who want to make the most of their Tanzanian experience for a modest outlay. Visit the famous wildlife destinations, meet Maasai (pastoralists), Hadzabe (hunter/gatherers) and Iraqw (agro-pasturalists). Walk and talk with them and for your last three days hike in the beautiful Maasai Steppe.
Safari in Tanzania's Wild West This tour is devised for those who have been to Tanzania before and are looking for a truly exciting, in-depth experience. It is exclusively a dry season safari (1 June to 18 October) and will include a few days in Mahale and Katavi National Parks, plus a newly opened area of Tarangire National Park. Fly from destination to destination, walk or drive with very experienced guides away from other tourists. This is a taste of the real African bush.
